Basic Series stretcher bars are solid construction with glued joints and corrosion-proof fasteners— they will be delivered to you fully assembled and ready to go.

Basic stretchers have a 1.5” side profile. We mill the bar stock with slightly softened edges and a 15° bevel which gives your canvas plenty of clearance to prevent ghosting.

These stretchers are designed to be robust yet economical. As a result, Basic stretchers lack the ability to be disassembled or keyed.

Our Basic stretcher bar stock is made from hand-picked, locally sourced American Basswood that is free from knots and defects. Basswood is lightweight, incredibly stable, and clear of saps and tannins.

Cross-braces are made from either basswood or clear, knot-free pine depending on raw material availability.

All artist surfaces are Made-To-Order. In order to keep costs down, we do not carry inventory or stock sizes.

Delivery to NYC, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh is available on a monthly shuttle. Delivery rates for these cities start at $300 per order. You will find that even with the delivery cost, our prices are still very competitive.
