Economy Crates are meant for very limited uses and can be built for 1-way or 2-way travel. Sanded AC-grade plywood is standard and we use a combination of 1/2” and 3/4” material depending on the size of the artwork. Battens and exterior bumpers are only added as needed. Foam blocking is used to secure and protect the artwork rather than a full foam lining. Wafer-head screw closure.

Multi-Use Crates are highly customizable. Standard options include birch-faced plywood with battens, 2 inch foam blocking or lining, and reusable bolt closures.

Several add-ons are available for museum use such as interior climatization, painted or sealed exterior, 3/4” MDO, butterfly latches, and more.

Travel Frames are ideal for storage, transport via art courier, or use inside of a travel crate. They are constructed from 1x pine members in various widths according to the size of the artwork.

Travel frames can be upgraded with OZ-Clips®, plywood backing, and/or a Coroplast® lining. In some scenarios, an upgraded travel frame can be a lightweight alternative to a travel crate.

Light-Duty or Hybrid packing includes a combination of typical soft-packing materials and lightweight crating materials (2x2 wood framing, wafer-head screws to attach cardboard, and/or flat strapping to secure objects). Such hybrid packing solutions can be suitable for smaller or irregularly-shaped artworks, transport via art shuttle services, or storage.

Soft-Packing methods include slipcases, shadowboxes, and custom-sized cardboard cases. Materials typically include archival-quality 4 mil high-clarity plastic, double-wall cardboard, and other materials as appropriate (glassine, Dartek®, Volara®, polyethylene foam blocking, etc).
